Hello!

Over the past few years, Hello Games fans have become familiar with the studio largely due to No Man’s Sky and the regular stream of updates for that game we have been working on since launch.

No Man’s Sky continues to be a major focus for the studio and our community can expect a lot more from us in the future.

Secretly in the background though, a small off-shoot team has been working on something altogether intimate and beautiful.

We announced The Last Campfire in December 2018 at the Video Game Awards with a teaser trailer. Today we are able to announce that The Last Campfire will be coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in Summer 2020.

To celebrate, we have put together a new trailer that gives a little glimpse into the emotional journey this small team is crafting.

The Last Campfire is the culmination of several years of work by a couple of members of the team who had the urge to make an artistically focused single-player adventure game. The result is something in which the player becomes lost within a storybook world, travelling through beautiful environments, meeting strange and unusual characters in a heartfelt story.

You play as Ember. You are trapped in a puzzling place, searching for meaning and a way home. At its heart, it is the story of rekindling hope in an otherwise hopeless world.

Hello Games was born out of a close-knit team of four friends working together to create our first game, Joe Danger. We are still a very small studio, and while No Man’s Sky takes up a large slice of our bandwidth, we want to nurture creative new ideas from small teams. We are excited for The Last Campfire, and what this team builds next.

We really hope you enjoy The Last Campfire when it releases this Summer.

Hello!

We've just been to the The Game Awards, and we have some news.

The last few years have been a crazy time, launching No Man's Sky felt like an impossible task that we somehow managed to pull off. Having a positive and active community two years later also seemed like an impossible task, and again somehow with a lot of hard work it we've managed that too. This was one of the reasons that we were at the TGAs, because No Man's Sky was nominated for Best Ongoing Game, something we are very proud of.

There is another reason we went to the TGAs, and that was to announce a new game we've been working on secretly for a few years.

The Last Campfire is an adventure, a story of a lost Ember trapped in a puzzling place, searching for meaning and a way home. Together you will discover a beautiful wilderness filled with lost folks, strange creatures and mysterious ruins.

From Joe Danger to No Man's Sky and now The Last Campfire, Hello Games has always made games that are vibrant, beautiful, interesting and different.

We brought on board the creatives behind LostWinds, Steven and Chris, and The Last Campfire is their baby. This is a big moment for them, and we're excited to be able to share in it.

We call it a Hello Games Short. Like Pixar shorts it's a way to foster creativity and new voices in the studio. We started by making Joe Danger, before No Man's Sky, and we want to pay forward our success to give others the opportunity to do the same.

I'm so proud that just two of our team has been able to make something so artistically interesting, and so fun and unique to play. It reminds me of why I love working at Hello Games.

We look forward to sharing more with you in the future.
